General MacArthur was the major leader in the fight against communism in Korea. He made daring decisions, but in the end was a good leader and tried to defeat communism.
China was getting very angry upset because they thought that the invasion into North Korea was a threat to them, and on Novemeber 21, 1950 they attacked american forces in the Yalu river.
MacArthur then requested that they blockade against Chinese forces, but president Truman thought this would create another World War and voted this down.
Since MacArthur was back talking Truman's ideas on not invading the Chinese forces Truman fired him as commander, but yet the public thought MacArthur was a great leader and liked him greatly.
Many people were getting very tired and upset with the war and wanted it to end. Truman and Soviet leaders suggested they have a truce talk and work things out.
Truman did not run for president in 1952, so the democract leader was Adlai Stevenson and the republican leader was General Dwight D. Eisenhower (Ike.)
Eisenhower was not popular about the war, and promised to go to Korea to try and end the war quickly and efficiently.
Eisenhower in the end did win, and went over to Korea to try and end the war, and in the end they all promised to end the war!
Eisenhower wasn't fully over the war and wanted to put the use of nuclear weapons into action on the war, but many people voted this down and knew this was wrong.
In the end the two Korea's were left and communism was contained, but not many people were fully statisfied with this ending because it was indecisive.
